Thomas A. Keenan is the firm’s founding and managing partner. He is Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney, a distinction held by less than 2% of practicing attorneys.

Mr. Keenan was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1982. He served as an Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor from 1984 to 1988. While an Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor he served as its Chief Arson Prosecutor. After leaving the Prosecutor’s Office Mr. Keenan commenced employment in private practice. He has 18 years’ experience as a civil defense litigator. Thomas Keenan has been certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as both a Criminal Trial Attorney and a Civil Trial Attorney. Mr. Keenan’s practice is now entirely civil defense litigation and accordingly he remains a Certified Civil Trial Attorney but has relinquished his certified criminal trial attorney status. Thomas Keenan has litigated a wide variety of civil litigation matters on behalf of school boards, teachers, municipalities and their employees, security companies and commercial enterprises. Mr. Keenan has extensive experience litigating Title 59 and Civil Rights claims against public entities venued in both the United States District Court and the Superior Court of New Jersey. Representation in this regard has included county prosecutors and investigators, police departments and police officers. Thomas Keenan has also litigated extensively in negligence claims against public entities and public employees as well as employment claims for violations of the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.

Mr. Keenan graduated Seton Hall Law School in 1982 and Rider College, Cum Laude 1979. In 2010, NJ Monthly Magazine named Mr. Keenan a Super Lawyer in the state of New Jersey.
